Picked up an abused LT1000 about 3 weeks ago literally on the side of the road with a "Free" sign on it. It has a sweet running 18 HP OHV Intek and a manual transaxle. The cart build is as follows:
*= Completed #= Future Mods
*Deck and everything related is gone forever.
*Automatic clutch/w 1800 rpm lockup added, and manual clutching mechanism is retained.
*3" transaxle input pulley.
*4" kart band brake adapted to OEM 'brake' rotor.
#Foot throttle; in progress. Governor externals removed.
#Front axle rebuild/steering upgrade. Small 5:1 planetary gearset will serve as a steering box. Spherical rod ends on all linkages.
#Track bars for front axle to eliminate side loading of axle pivot.
#Dropping seat into body 6" to lower the CG. Includes relocating battery.
#Steering wheel lowered and steepened to improve ergonomics for the kids.
#Custom paint by the kids.

I'll post progress pictures later today.

If anyone is looking for details on any of this PM me and I'll be glad to pass it on.
Once all of the prototyping is complete and proven the little beast will come back apart for cleaning and painting.
I expect to have the throttle finished tonight and the steering by the end of the week.
