So I got a citation for driving with no license, registration, plates, insurance... riding a scooter?!

Seriously, do the **** pigs have anything else to do to pull me over for something LEGAL to do in the state of Texas? :ack2:

In general, any traffic law which applies to bicycles also applies to motor assisted scooters. That means the operator must obey the usual traffic laws that bicycle operators must obey such as speed limit, signal turns, etc. (TRC 551.101(a)). However, TRC 551.351 states that some laws that apply to a motor vehicle do not apply to these scooters. This means that:

* the scooter operator doesn't need a driver license,
* the scooter operator doesn't need liability insurance,
* the scooter doesn't have to be registered or have a license plate,
* the scooter doesn't have to carry a low speed vehicle emblem; and,
* the scooter doesn't have to be inspected.

Cities and counties may prohibit operation of these scooters on particular streets or highways for safety reasons, as can the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).

Dude, I wish they would spend their time pulling over these fools going 70 on the feeder streets with blacked out windows, spinner snake head decapitator rims, and spend all their time weaving in and out of traffic. Thats who they need to be pulling over.

He didn't even know who I was. I could have pretended not to hear him, and coast into a small sidewalk which he couldn't follow me in. Hah.

Now I have either $290 worth of fines, or show up in court -.-

inorite? My parents made me dress up yesterday... ._.

The annoying part was, it wasn't even ACTUAL court. You just go up there, tell them you're not guilty, and they send you on your way for a REAL prosecutor... after a couple months of waiting. >_<

With 22" tires your gonna need a wicked low ratio...like 10:1 or so, probably need a jackshaft.

Yes, they do have something to do. Something like stopping the waves of illegal immigrants pouring into your state. But no, they decide to chase kids around on scooters.

Don't blame the cops though, most of them are nice guys, blame the polititans

In this case, (and probably Rotore's), yes it is. Their **** little actions can proceed to much bigger problems in our lives. It may just be a ticket to them, but it can **** with your life permanently.

You must have some relation to a cop. Id say that about 1/2 to 2/3 are good, the rest abuse their power. You cant blame politicians for cops being bad.

Whats with you and illegal immigrants? If they didnt make it so **** hard to get a citizenship, there wouldnt be such a problem with illegals. Your one of those "build a fence" people, right?

whats wrong with building a fence?

I've never met a cop I didn't like. They pull you over, but its their job. Just like every other group of people, I'm sure theres some bad ones, but cops have a dangerous job, and the deserve respect.

It wastes valuable money.

Evidently you havent met many cops. It has nothing to do with pulling over people. You must get respect to give it.

I don't know what country you live in, but here in the America we solute our armed forces, police officers and emergency personel because the endanger themselfs for the good of the people. You must either be a criminal or live in a town with a abnormally corrupt law enforcement.

It wastes valuable money.

Reliable sources say that it would cost 50 million. How much was Obama's stimulus package again?
