Currently I have:
-6.5hp greyhound engine
-10t drive sprocket
-60T sprocket on the axle
-18in tires
I was just wondering if my off road go kart is running on the right gear ratio. I will be posting pic if needed. I would also appreciate, if anybody could list any mods I can do to improve top speed or acceleration of the go kart. Thnx!:auto:

Based on the title, can I assume you also have a cvt in there? If so, you should be good; if not, it may be a little bit steep.

A greater top speed means you sacrifice acceleration & vice versa; you can't have both. The best you can do is try to improve the overall performance of the engine itself:
-hi flow air filter
-hi flow exhaust/straight pipe
-remove governor

These are the basic, free or cheap mods which should net you an extra hp or two. The first two help the engine breathe which will improve acceleration. The third will increase max rpm which will increase top speed

The gearing is appropriate for the CVT and tire size, but it might still end up feeling a little anemic due to the engine size. Depends on weight, and other conditions. I say give it a go, and alter if need be.

If anything you should add a extra jackshaft, so you can have a smaller axle sprocket so you get more ground clearance
