Have this 2015 Equinox I'm working on. Drained the transmission fluid into an 8qt jug so I know how much to refill back in. 111k miles, fluid never been serviced. Fingers crossed that the previous owner didn't FUBAR the transmission. Fluid is black. Didn't see any flakes and it drove decent, no weird shifting or slippage that I felt.

They staple a copy of the estimate to the R.Os for everything. GM gives a range of like 4.5-6.3qt of ATF for this slush box, hence why I'm using a labeled 8qt jug. For the 7qts of AC Delco ATF plus labor, $220. That's like 1/10th the cost of a reman transmission with new torque converter installed. Possibly even cheaper. I'm saying replace the fluid every 60k miles. Modern transmissions are allowed to run hotter, which breaks the fluid down faster. People would have less issues if they did the basic changes on time.

He11, I’ll punch you for free!

I wonder why Chrysler never kept up the work they were doing on the Turboencabulator and Turbunkulator technologies they were pioneering from the late 50s through the early 70s?
Probably the same reason why Ford stopped with the Turbo 2.3L Lima, they never switched to multi-port let alone fuel injection and most were all carburetor. Similar reason why it took GM until like the mid-00s before they brought back cylinder deactivation after the 8-6-4 Cadillac from the 80s. The technology wasn't there yet to make it reliable.

So get this line of BS. My dealer had been waiting on several 2L Turbo engines for Jeep Wranglers for months. When a Tech I work with put in an order for one a few months ago, he was told they were on back order for over a year, like 12-18 months backborder. We also needed several power transfer units, basically a gearbox off the transmission that turns a driveshaft to the rear differential on a transverse vehicle.

Our service manager was in an online meeting with other regional dealers, with our main regional representative. Our manager brought up when are we supposed to be getting all of our parts. Evidently the regional rep said, we should have plenty in stock for everyone. Our service manager sent him ROs to that regional, and like a day or two later, magically all our engines and parts showed up that had been on order for MONTHS.

All the distribution centers are ran by UAW. The engine that one tech got, that was brought over for him to drop into a Wrangler, had a build date of this past February of 2025. So someone isn't doing their job, keeping up to date with inventory.

I had an 86 Fiero GT with 2.8L 6cyl. I bought it my junior year of high school for $800. It was in very good condition. Overheating in the summer was the only issue I had. We would cruise Gratiot Ave. every Saturday night back then(mid 90's). I would have to drive around with the heat blasting in 90 degree weather to keep from overheating! :ROFLMAO: Rear engine with the radiator up front. Had the longest radiator hose ever!!! I drove that thing year round in Michigan winters and never got stuck. I miss that thing......

Just had my wifes Compass at the dealer for a throttle sensor issue and a small oil leak. They had for 3 weeks waiting on parts. Got it back Saturday and back to the dealer Monday. Monday morning there was a huge oil puddle under it on my 2 year old driveway I had poured. Lol. They replaced the timing chain cover gasket and oil pan gasket/sealer. It was a few tiny drops before we brought it in the first time. We shall see.
