If it's real wood I'm impressed, if it's vinyl I'm still impressed. You don't see that kind of creativity in vehicles anymore, not since at least the 70s and 80s.

A fine piece of workmanship, no doubt, but it sort of makes the truck a bit impractical...

Ha, yes that's true that the opening in the back (while aerodynamic) isn't exactly conducive for loading large items. I'd suspect he's a camper, and sleeps back there. That or just a weird eccentric that likes building wooden things!

I could see that on a old Late 60s GM or Ford truck. Even more so an old Bronco or K5 as a turtleback. Either way pretty sweet.

I dont know the owner or the builder in real life but I know him in consciousness, he thought "I'm a skilled carpenter and I need a tonneau cover but I'm not a metal fabricator nor can I afford the commercial options so let's see what I can build from my wood pile"

It does look like that... My first guess was just that... But a second look was no.. A purpose built item.
