converter to predator engine

Mini bike kit, having trouble mounting the converter.
If I tip it down the frame interferes.
If it's level the head is in the way, tried shaving the support fins on the bearing support. It still interferes with the air shroud, around the cylinder. Does that have to come off.

It's an azuza mini bike kit and a commet converter. Series 20 I think.
HF predator 212 cc engine.

Ive had a similar problem in the past. I extended the mounting holes on the back plate a little, and grinded the fins down which worked.

That looks like a good mount, but raises the gas tank into the top tubes.
Think I'll rase the engine with some square tube, and put that money on another carb.
What are these replacement carbs and where do I find them, looking for good throttle response.

on my azusa minibike, I spaced the motor up with square tube like you mentioned, Then ran a separate gas tank. I put an exhaust header and air intake on it too , so no other clearance issues. A minibike with a 212 predator and a torque converter hauls butt. 45mph and takes off hard. As for a carb, in my opinion, the factory is more than adequate unless your modding the engine alot.

good to know, no engine mods, I did find a header/air filter/ main jet kit.
I'll mount the gas tank on the upper rails.

Motor and gas tank mount

This is a HF 212cc engine to Azuza frame.
I raised the engine 1 1/8 ", it'll be easier to change oil also.
Trimmed the mount plate for converter.
Chain is straight.
Mounted gas tank above with rubber grommets to isolate vibrations.
