So I was leaving my friends house yesterday and I noticed a pulse kids electric atv just sitting on the side of the road next to a bunch of trash. It seemed to be in perfect condition so i had to take it of course. It only goes about 8 mph and i definitely want to make this thing a fun little gas toy because i only weigh 130 pounds so i fit on it perfectly. I will attach pictures of the quad but it seems to have a very sturdy frame and i am looking for advice on what motor kit i could use to make this project work and if this is even a good idea. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum! As Kart of Kaos said, if are going to do this, a lot of fabrication is going to need to be done. You'll have to put in a new rear axle and braking system, not to mention lots of frame reinforcement. I would personally recommend getting a used China kids quad seeing as you can fit on this. They go pretty cheap and will be much safer and easier to use than this. If you want a fun project, you could probably build off this, but there wouldn't be much left. The China quads go under many names like Tao Tao and others. I'm betting you want some speed because of those dirt bikes in the picture, and the china kids quads go close to 30mph. Be careful with their frames though, they are prone to crack.

Even if you kept that axle, you'd have to flip it since the drive sprocket is on the wrong side. May not even be chain driven, who knows? I like the way you are thinking though. Hope some kid isn't crying because he left his 4-wheeler for a second and now it's gone.
Lol. That once happened to me with a push mower. I was mowing at the end of driveway, it ran outta gas by the trash cans, I went to get the can of gas from the shed, came back and a scrap man was pushing it to his trailer. After we had some words, we had good laugh. If i would have been a couple mins later, it would have been on it way to the junk yard. Lol

In that case do you think it would be better to abandon the gas idea. I heard that you can make these pretty quick with just a drill battery. I like this particular toy because it fits right in the back of my car so it would be fun to cart around to random places.

Mnts of the farthest NE TN you can go
There is a guy on YouTube farm something or another, he has an old pickup and started with a drill motor (yes it moved) he then installed like 3.5hp gas, then a 212 and yada yada, just watched his latest with a 420 or? Duramax electric start sticking out his hood....he did like 40 with a small engine and gearing, his hood/hood scoop is a wheelbarrow.
So electric will work

ETA keyfarm......need stuff
