Hi. Looking to purchase a mobility scooter that has wiring and controller issues. Apparently when wiring rubbed thru it shorted out the controller. There doesn't appear to be any factory parts or repair info on these scooters. It has a Dynamic Rhino 160a controller on it. All the tech people told me was I would need to source the controller from another Pride scooter, to match the programming. Not sure what this programmer monitors, as far as motor/amp load, RPM, temp, etc. or if it has much to do with dash display. Any thoughts as to being able to retro another controller onto it, matching the motor requirements?

Sorry, we're old folks, but not that old. Dont need no mobility scooter. If i did need one I'd slap a predator on it.

Sorry not much help here. My curiosity would have me looking at the board for the majic smoke doo doo stains. Maybe a part I could replace. Could be a fuse. Dunno. Its broke already so have at it. Can't make it worse.
When that fails, looks like sourcing a donor is the option.

You might also check with the folks at the old mini bikes forum (https://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/index.php?whats-new/). I know it has hosted a few threads that address electrical conversions.

Hey gents, stay open minded. We have an electrics section and Mr. Functional Artist in our know-how team.

Maybe “Electric Projects” is too wide a term; it opens up the forum to people trying to fix their blender…

First, "wiring & controller issues" from a "short" could have "fried" (technical term) other things
...than just the controller
...like the electronic throttle, fuses &/or fuse holders...for example

So, "if" you buy it don't pay too much
...as it could be an "easy fix"
...or a frickin' nightmare
...ya just never know ;)

Also, before buying, I would "double check" the voltage that this scooter "runs" on (probably 24V)
...then, Google "Dynamic Rhino 160a controller for a Pride mobility scooter"
...maybe places like Amazon, eBay, Facebook marketplace etc. may have some

This would give you an idea of
...what's available
...& at what cost :cheers2:

Its too bad theyre so (not sure what word to use) that they cant manually add new legitimate members, they just flat out deny every new member.

Cant even open a picture to see its full size.... Other site functions that will not work if youre not a full member...

Long haired freaky people, need not apply.

Yes, it's a shame so much good content is currently locked away there. But administrative challenges aren't anybody's favorite pastime so I'm nobody to talk. Maybe it'll take a village...
