Hi all

I have built a small kart for my kids, know nothing about welding and stuff so think i done not to bad.

Im having major problems with teh controller.

i have as pictured this controller with a 180 watt motor and a hand throttle off a 24v scooter.

Why wont this work!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried the red and black as the power, the yellow an blue (which then makes the motor work) i tried with the red and black using a 15 amp fuse and a 20 and it blew both of them instantly.

Any ideas?

You desperately need a wiring diagram! You can just randomly put power to electronics, hoping to figure it out! That's really likely to fry it.

Figure out what kind of scooter it came off, and replicate the wiring.

Cheers guys.

So with the key switch, can you not just bridge the connection to get it going?

I put the key switch on a big standard light switch, is that not the same thing?

Also the throttle is off a 24 volt scooter, I assume it will work with a 36 v controller

Thanks guys, much appreciated

Wooo it's working.

Cheers guys for the help.

Think the throttle is no good as it works by touching the green and red on the speed controller connections

Right ive had a bit more of a mess with it and by touching the red and green it seems like its on half speed and touch the red and black and it full power.

I assume that means the controller is ok, but why wont the throttle work. Is it the wrong throttle for this type of controller. Its a bog standard grip type one off a 24v e-scooter.
