Hey, I'm a student in UK, and the first day I got there, I saw those beautiful green meadows and ever cloudy sky.
So I want to build a cart (well a buggy, rather) to drive around those plains and then just lie there, away from humanity and watch the clouds.
I guess I don't have to explain why not just choose a car, since all of you here have a common love for DIY, right?
Well there are a few problems.
Firstly, those meadows seem to be a "public access property", meaning anyone can wander there, but there must be no damage. I guess that doesn't mix well with cars and go-carts. Advice from anyone familiar with UK laws would be nice.
Secondly, I don't have a workshop. Though I -hope- I can negotiate it with department heads of our uni so they let me use their labs/workshops. Those are usually empty and their only concern is safety.
I looked up e-bay for cheap parts around my area. It would seem that all the parts together cost even less than a moped. For about twice that price, I'm planning to pimp it with closed roof (tent
) and heating (it's cold here
).
So wish me luck! Though it would be much better if you could give me advice. As to where to find some off-road countryside that I can legally drive. Thanks!
