i was thinking about building a 212 and ive heard from you guys to replace the connecting rod when removing the governor , now ive seen the billets for like $90ish and ive seen a couple that claim to be "heavy duty" for $40ish , my question is are these "heavy duty" worth it? and will they hold up?

plans are to- remove governor, change cam to MOD2 cam, and better springs.... what springs would you guys recommend ? and should i change anything else? not wanting to get much more into the build than that.... i know i could go way more into it, but trying to keep it around those mods, i do already have a bored racing carb with bigger jets and 140 etube , racing filter kit and weiner pipe and muffler

Kartin, can you show us where these 'heavy duty' rods are? Never heard of them, but I dont go looking for predator 212cc connecting rods.

Also, if you replace the cam, you need to look into what the cam card says for timing and set it to a point in that range specified by the cam. You are kind of on thin ice now because all of these mods really open the door to over revving the engine, which is why I would reccomend just biting the bullet and getting the billet rod/flywheel (just my personal preference).

A predator is NOT a Clone. So it will not accept a Gx200 rod. It is just very similar. So Many parts Work. Exterior Bolt on parts.
But internals not so much.
