I just picked up an old Commuter Industries Pacesetter 3 wheeler from a fellow DFW mini bike freak tonight. I had one as a kid that I bought from a family friend and regretted selling it to buy my first race quad. The 390 Kawasaki has a bad lower rod bearing, but I want to fix it. I'll post updates as we get things done on it at the shop.

No problem Karl! I found out the engine is actually a 341cc Kawasaki engine that is the same as used in Club Car golf carts. Since it's going to cost way too much to fix, I am trying to decide whether to install a Vanguard 16hp V-twin or an electric start Duromax 440cc engine.

With those engines... Look at what is easier/cheaper to add the final drive... Both are 1"(+) shaft sizes, do it does limit the clutch or cvt size/power handling options......

Find a dirt bike engine to put in it! Maybe a 125 2 stroke or a 250 four stroke. Then you have more power than you need, and a 5 speed transmission!
