Comet vs knock off

Ok, so anyone used both a Comet torque converter and a knock off torque converter, is the Comet worth the higher cost? I'm talking like a cheap one from Amazon of unknown origins.

It's tough because human psychology makes us feel that if we spent more on something we are gonna have a bias that it is better.

The Chinese torque converters seem to work every bit as good as the original Comet. But,But, But the Chinese belts are lousy and wear out really quick. So the general advice is to buy the knock off TC, but mate it with an original COMET belt.

I have 5 torque converter equipped vehicles. Not one is a Comet. They all work
flawlessly. The Comet brand belts are worth the extra money.Especially if you work them hard.

Denny, in the few years I've been on this forum, I realize that we better listen to one another , cause each of us deserve a measure of respect for the junk we've gathered over the years, that when shared.....create safe and useful enjoyment for all!
