hello i parted out my go cart and now i have a torque converter which i am not going to use anytime soon (into 3 wheelers and dirt bikes now) . it was working good on go cart. i think it is a comet 30 series. it might need some cleaning and lube but was working great as far as i know. has little use. surface rust is from sitting out in weather. i don't really know how much i want for it so make me an OFFER. sold the the highest bidder. can ship through usps in a flat rate box or work something out. whats in the pic is what you get. thanks (no warranties expressed or implied)

(i also have motor mount plate, belt, and driven part if interested.)

Comet Clutch

Hi,

Do you still have the clutch?

Sounds like I have the same Tri-Sport you do (14hp McCullough).

What are you "re-powering with"? I was considering a 400cc street bike engine.

But an electric start ATV motor would be cool too.

If I can buy the clutch you have, I may just put the engine I have back on for now.

This was the Tri-sport I grew up with. I took the engine off years ago, but the rest sat outside and will need to be restored.

Fortunately, I still have the engine.

How much are you asking for it?

Also, do you have other parts?

Hi,

the tri-sports were manufactured in the early/mid 70 by Alsport.

Basically a three wheeled dune buggy.

I have seen reference to Yerf Dogs, and perhaps they are similar.

I am looking for a Comet 40 series (actually more than one) but one will get me started.

How much are you asking for the clutch?

Hi,

the Tri-Sports were manufactured by Alsport in the early/mid 70 by Alsport.

Basically a three wheeled dune buggy or off road three wheeled go-kart..

Independent suspension all around, differential, and (at times) an annoyingly small front wheel. Would run about 65mph flat out ona straightaway. Pretty good for early 70's.
Great hill climber and jumping too. very low CG. Independent rear brakes, so you could turn (and flip) on a dime.

I have seen reference to Yerf Dog Karts, never been around them, but sound cool.

I am looking for a Comet 40 series (actually more than one as I have a couple of other low CG wheelers) but one will get me started.

How much are you asking for the clutch? I got this one from my Dad, and I am going to try to restore it this winter. It is the one we had when I was a kid.

T/C

I haven't seen prices on the 30's only the 340, 40's and higher hp.

30 is only good up to 8hp, so it would work on the one I am supposed to get this weekend.

How about $30?

No offense taken,

You asked for a price, like I said, if its a 30 series, I wasn't sure on the price.

I did ask you before, and yeah, $30 is low. Kind of thought it would get your attention though. ; ) and it did, so there you go.

Seriously, what do you want for it, it is up to you, like I said, depends on what it's worth to you..

For that matter, I could probably use the whole setup.

Do you need any parts? I have a lot for B&S engines (startersetc) carbs, things like that.

I have a DT 125 Yamaha Engine. Lots of other stuff.

Figure out a price and let me know.Let me know.

Clutch

Hi,

Just wanted to clarify again I try to buy the same way I sell, fairly.

$30 was a pretty low, but you never know, some people just want stuff gone.

And I did want to get you to set a price, rather than me.

Figure out what you think is a fair price and let me know.

When we dela online, we have to have some amount of trust in one another, as we are really buying "sight unseen", even with pictures, sometimes things aren't obvious.

I have been very fortunate with Craigslist, and other online sites, and honesty is the best policy.

We are all doing similar things, making working stuff from not working stuff.

hello

thanks for the reply. unfortunately i might have to keep you waiting a little longer. i will probably take 100 dollars for the whole setup. driver, driven, and the belt. the thing is i also have this 4 sale locally and i have a guy interested in the whole kart that comes with the t/c. if this deal folds over, i will let you know. in the meantime think about it and let me know if 100 is ok with you. i also appreciate your honesty since i too like to deal with honest people.

Ok, that is cool,

good luck with the local deal.

I am interested in it, $100 was a little (not much more than I was wanting to go, but drive and driven and belt, that is a fair price for used. Actually might even be a bit low, but if you are happy with i that is fine.

Seriously, good luck with the local deal, no shipping costs that way, plus more space in the garage/shop for winter. I am trying to build on a place to work (have been working outside first part of summer. Building a lean to on my "shop" now, which is an old summer kitchen building we have

Let me know what happens.
