Hey, I have a Briggs and Stratton 3.5 HP engine I need to use on my go kart (competition regulations, sigh). It's a 550 series 127cc engine. It's a race kart. To get a decent top speed without losing out on torque I feel like I need a torque converter. The engine is tiny, I wanted to know if it's a viable option to use a comet TAV on this... Other suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Will a TC even fit? What is the crank shaft size? I thought those were 5/8".
A TC uses 3/4" at the smallest I think. Unless you get an adapter.

I'm not too familiar with the inch system but isn't 5/8" about 16 mm? The comet's is a little larger. About 19mm. So I was thinking of installing a sleeve on the shaft to fit it. You're right. The engine has a 5/8. I also found a comet with a 5/8". Do you happen to know any seller who ships to India?

Thanks for the reply!

L3!!!

Hey!
Please do let me know if you are importing the comet, or if you find any alternatives locally available. It would be really helpful!
Thanks!
