Well, they have to know you are serious, and not just going to buy one or two. If you were looking to buy a container, I am surprised the did not respond. If you were going to buy a container, I assume you have a customs broker, company (with tax ID), and channels by which to sell them through. These are what they are looking for.

Also, understand that you are buying a good, sight unseen, and do not expect any customer support. In fact, i they respond back in a week to any request, you are very lucky.

I will monitor this situation closely. If there is a sense of real need, then I can procure a few hundred and see how it goes.

Hoffco produced lawn and graden equipment, such as tillers, while the Comet brand produced clutches, torque converters and other items for industrial and commercial applications.

I think the Comet division was still profitable enough but the Hoffco part of the corporation was dragging it down. I still think Comet will will somehow reorganize on their own and rise from the ashes.

I haven't seen these listed for sale yet. I'm sure someone will buy a sea container full and start selling them.

We have a shipment of CVT Clutches (TAV 30 Knock off) coming in end of January. We use them to build our ski winches. We will be pre selling them beginning to mid January for $174.99 each. Email me to be added to the pre sale list kland@bulletlines.com

That's a fvcking rip-off. The MADE IN USA Comet 30 series only ran ~$160, and you're trying to sell a CHINESE clone for $175?

Unfortunately, that is what we have to charge to make our profit margin and support the product for defects. Please remember that we are not in the business of making CVT Clutches: this is only a temporary fix for our own needs until someone else can order in larger quantities and drop the price. By the way: MSRP of the TAV2 30 was $249.99; it was dealers who decided to drop the price that low. I would bet dealers who have TAV 2 in stock now are charging full retail for them. I know of a dealer who has 8 of the TAV 2, and they will not even sell them; this makes our price a bargain.

i think that is an ok price, as i assume you are not shipping in huge numbers wholsale. i would just be greatful someone is selling them, even if they are slightly overpriced. also, think supply and demand. low supply + high (ish) demand= high price.
