Hey guys I have a mudhead 208r. Everything is standard original equipment for the kart. I bought it brand new last year. Lately we have been having a problem with the clutch sticking. It came with a comet 30 series setup. I have cleaned with carb cleaner and lubricated the clutch hub with dry lube as instructed by a friend but nothing work. Please help!

I will upload a pic of the first clutch hub we destroyed when I get off work.

Not sure about the extent of your cleaning job but you should totally disassemble it and thoroughly clean each part. Remove all dirt and corrosion the only dry lube the specified parts as per the manufacturer. They are very picky as far as cleaning goes.

Ah so, it has as original parts but, not 100% original...

It's unusual to "destroy" TC clutches; how did that happen? If it was through negligence, ok (still not easy though) but, if it destroyed itself, there's your first clue that something's not right; tell us about the belt; have you replaced it at any point?

My 30 series clutch doesn't seem to like the the mods I did to the 212cc (15+HP 15+ Ft Lb Tq)

Maybe it just needs cleaning. I will investigate soon.

It gets stuck and I have to wait for it to cool down before I can forcefully pull the clutch closed again. It makes driving interesting, as I only get to stop one time before the clutch stalls my engine. Which means I need to bring my spark plug socket and good pushing shoes out with me.

I'm going through the exact same problem Bob. I am off work today some I will post the pic of the old clutch hub that was messed up. And yes I did have to replace the belt when the hub went haywire. The teeth wore down a little in one section. It still seemed to work fine but I didn't want to change the hub without a new one. So no not 100% original any more but it was before the hub started sticking and the problem still exists.

Nitesnyper. I had the same problem as your having but i ended up fixing it.I suggest you do this, Take your belt off the torque coverter and run your engine give it full throttle and when you let it go see what happens to the drive pulley of the torque converter(the clutch). Is it still engaged or does it get jammed. If it just doesnt disengage mess with the idle screw i did that and it worked also as someone mentioned already take it apart and clean it theirs alot of videos on youtube about how to do it if you need help. If its getting jammed then look at your weight assembly(the thing with the springs on it). Pop the springs out and they should be straight if their not then your springs are shot and you have to get new springs. If the weight assembly is installed backwords it'll cause it to get jammed i had all these problems with my go-kart torque converted (30 series comet torque coverter) and i fixed them.
