Comet Cltch Buttons

I have a 30 series Comet Clutch missing one button.
I am ordering some and need to know what holds them in place.
The ones still on clutch have some kind of white adhesive on them.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think they recommend contact cement.

On the older ones they had a little pin the slid into the driven unit.
