Purchsed a cart with a 6.5 Tecumseh motor that had a Comet 30 torque converter on it. Had a 10t and 60t sprocket and a #40 chain. Have 20" tires. Can I just replace the driver with a Comet 40 and keep everything else the same (driven unit and 10t sprocket)? Any link on where I can get the best price on this? Thanks much.

NO! The 30 series,is a Asymmertic 3/4" belt. The 40 series,is a Symmetic 7/8" belt. If you want a 40 series, you must have a 40 driver and driven.

Sorry, forgot to mention in my original email that I was replacing the Tecumseh with a HF 11hp motor. I was under the impression that the 6.5 Tecumseh had a 7/8th's shaft and the HF 11hp had a 1 inch shaft so I needed to buy a new driver. You'd make my day if you told me I can use the existing Comet 30 driver. Thanks.

Actually, it's likely that your Tec has a 3/4" shaft, not 7/8", unless it's a real odd ball. At any rate, no- you cannot just change from a 30 to a 40 driver, Wall Gator is correct.
Thanks guys. Some small enging repair guy told me it was a 7/8th's but he really didn't look that closely. Another question, how can I tell the diameter of the jackshaft? Looks like I need to know that if I order and Comet 40, which I can't seem to find anywhere. Guess I'll put the 30 up for sale to help pay for the 40. Thanks again.

Your jackshaft is most likely 3/4" or 5/8". If you can't eyeball it, measure it.
