1. Place the welded nut side in a vice, nut side down.
2. Use a pipe wrench to loosen the drive by placing the wrench on the smooth side of the shaft that is pointing up and taping the wrench in a counter clockwise direction.
3. Once the hub assembly starts to move, Very carefully unscrew it by hand keeping in mind that there is a strong spring inside and once the hub is completely unscrewed, it could fly loose. Just apply pressure and be careful.
4. Take apart and pay close attention how it comes apart because you will need to put it back together in reverse.
5. Wash all parts to get all oil and grime off to include rust. I polished the inner shaft because my unit was not retracting all the way. (I used brake cleaner that I got at Advance Auto)
6. Coat all parts with a dry lubricant. Look for a dry lubricant spray at your auto parts store.
7. B sure that you install the bushing guide in thee Movable Hub before you insert the spring. The spring is there to force the movable hub back inside the drive plate.
8. Assemble then go back to the vice and lock the drive plate in the vice and align the movable hub to the drive plate then very carefully hold down the top end of the fixed face and turn clockwise until you are absolutely sure the threads are in the fixed bolt then proceed to tighten the assembly.

This is it.
