So I have an issue and I can't figure it out. I have a yerf do go kart that I motor swapped with the predator 212 and everything worked just fine as it should. But last week I went to take it around the neighborhood and I can get all torque and it won't go very fast anymore. The motor is brand new and it just tops out. The torque converter is lined up as it should be but I can't seem to get any speed out of it anymore can someone please help me out??

Would probably get a better response in the engine and clutch section. What was the original engine on the kart or what is the model of the kart, besides Yerf Dog. Did you do any maintenance to the driver and driven on the torque converter? Is the belt still good?

It had a Tecumseh 6.5 hp the go kart was never really driven much and was very well maintained. The belt is still in good shape. The driver that spins on idle works properly it's the pulley on the jack shaft that isn't engaging properly which is what I'm trying to figure out but I'm kinda running into a dead end lol

That's the driven (on the jackshaft). Are you running the backplate with the torque converter or just running it without it? Cause if you're running without it, the belt might have too much slack in it. Or it's possible the spring in the driven pulley is bar and needs to be replaced.

I'm running it with the back plate and the spring is all good I adjusted it the other week. I'm going to buy a new belt to see if that does it if not I'll just go and buy a new torque converter. I only paid 150 for the kart and its in really good condition so putting another 100 into it isn't a big deal

Have you adjusted the throttle cable? It could be loose and won't get you going faster.

Sorry the link is a mobile one, using my phone since my computer is out of commission. http://www.gokartsupply.com/mobile/trouble.htm

But it does give a bit of things for troubleshooting the potential problem.

I have the exact same set up as you. Yerf dog 3202, predator 212, and torque converter.

Mine will top out at 35ish on flat ground. I think you might have a belt issue. Does it look worn?
