Anyone know of a good replacement or a way to make the stock gas cap not leak?

Replace the tank with one that has a chrome steel vented cap...
The OEM white honda ones are great...

the tank cap has a rubber seal that could be compromised..
sooo maybe it's as easy as just replacing the seal with a new one ;)

PS ALL tank caps will leak at a certain point (engine upside down very very hard shakes etc.
they're all "vented" (or at least they should be) and that air passage is enough to let even liquid gas through under some conditions.
So if that's what you're talking about.. then you need to deal with it

No, the seal is intact. The original one leaked and my son actually lost it. I bought a replacement and it also. leaks. Tilt the bike over and it come running out.

Yes... That's the cap... But it won't fit that tank...
The new plastic capped tanks are threaded for those type of caps...
The listed cap is OEM style, that has a bayonet lock joint mates for the OEM tank...

As I said.. it needs to do that (well up to a point that is)

if it'd be 100% airtight the gas would create a vacuum when being fed to the engine,
big enough vacuum would prevent the remaining gas from flowing into the carb (engine would stop running)
and might even be enough to lock the tank cap that'd make it hard for you to reopen it.

tilting the bike over will always leak fuel!
(on a new expensive motorbike as well as on a cheap chinese mini bike bought used off CL)

Well, I think it's excessive. When I say tilt I mean if it has a full tank and you slosh it side to side, it runs out. That's not safe. I'd rather it seal and have a vent hose of some kind.

Those new plastic capped tanks suck... Even the others with the check valve breather...
I'm pretty sure you can find a OEM style tank and that doesn't leak like yours does...
I've got a similar to stock honda on my champion motor... My bike leans over quite a bit... But it doesn't leak at all...
I bought another Honda tank to replace the other princess motor I have, with the plastic cap... Almost broke it off unscrewing it for the first time...

Maybe I wasn't so clear... That cap needs a bayonet joint bung where it fits to..
The plastic caps don't. They screw in... Completely different.
