Yeah, they are definitely different. My boss that invented them has one of those huge 45ft $750,000 motorhomes. They pull an Escalade behind it when travel, and because of that, he had no way to take a golf kart to those big parks they visit. He invented that as a collapsible kart that would fit in the receiver of the SUV. I don't know if you saw the video on the site, but it takes about 4 mins to have it ready to ride. He has them in gas and electric, but the gas one has a 6HP Subaru Robin OHC engine. The early ones had Honda GX200's, but he changed over later on. They have a torque convertor and geared low to pull the weight of 4 adults. They run 12 - 14 MPH. When he was building the first ones, about 8 of us all piled on one and he told us to try to tear it up -lol. R&D at it's finest. They are pretty durable!

A lot of tailgaters buy them and order them with the upholstery and the frontend anodized in the colors of their teams.

Help identifying this off-road go kart

I am looking at buying this go kart, but I cant tell what kind it is. The guy i am buying it from doesn't know either. Engine size will not be a help in determining it, because it the the engine was swapped for an 85 cc ktm two stroke engine. Also, what is a good buying price for it? It fully runs.

It can be difficult to ID anything from just one pic; I have no idea what it is but, I can tell you it's very likely it's Chinese; personally, I wouldn't pay more than about $300-$400 in running condition... but, that's just me...

I couldn't find much on the exact model, but I got it for $225 and it runs well. The fraw is perfect, only thing it needs is a chain tensioner.

Hey everybody, I finally bought an offroad go kart! Thanks for all your help, I chose to get one that's running, but needed some tlc. Its a kasea adventure with an 80 cc ktm two stroke motor in it. I got it for 225 so far I've sealed a Crack in the gas tank, and am working on aligning the chain (it comes off after 10 mins of riding). Thanks!

Fixing an offroad go kart

I recently purchased a chinese go kart that ran, but needed a fair amount of work. I need to seal the leaky gas tank, rebuild the front right suspension, align the sprockets so the chain doesn't fall off.

To fix the leaky tank, I'm just going to put some all seal on it.

To fix the front right shock, I'll either need some help from the forum,or will just replace it (it has a really slow rebound.

The biggest part of making it work is aligning the sprockets, the top sprocket it about a 1/4 out of line with the bottom one, which makes the Chain fall off every 3 or so minutes of running it. I can't adjust the bottom sprocket because it is welded on. This leaves me with either moving the engine and unwelding it's mounts or finding a way to extend out the sprocket an additional 1/4 inch, but I have no idea how to do that. Has anyone here done that before?

Is something in the rear sub frame bent that would cause this misalignment? Did the axle shift from an impact? I'd look for a reason before deciding how to correct the problem. If nothing is bent or shifted, perhaps you could shift the entire axle the 1/4 inch you need. Is the brake disk welded in place too? Can the caliper be shifted. Look at the bearing mounts and bearings. Can the bearings be shifted on the axle? You get the idea. I think its a reasonable assumption the sprockets did line up when the engine mounts were welded in place.

Does it have a radiator?
What method do you use to start it?

Another question would be....... Did the WHOLE axle assembly slide over ? Since the sprocket can't move. And was it staying on before this problem happened ?

It's a two stroke ktm 80 ish cc, it has a radiator in the front of it. I'll take some more pictures when I get home. I measured the distance on each side of the axle and they were the same, I really just think he mounted it in the wrong spot.

Fron the outside of the wheel to side of the axle is 5 and 3/4s exactly on each side. I think he just goofed up on making the whole motor mount. Today I looked where the motor is mounted and it appears that he put one side in front of the other. So, the motor is twisted when the motor is tight. Tomorrow i'm going to grind off the places that he mounted the motor and reweld them correctly. But, I bought the kart for $225 so i'm not complaining. From the pictures does that look like a good plan?

The seal on the leaky gas tank seems to be holding. For anyone else who wants to fix their gas tank:

1. Buy all-seal from the store (usually about 2 bucks and available at homedepot) Then disconnect your gas tank and remove all gas.

2.Coat the crack in all-seal (it is more liquid than you would expect)

3. Wait until it is completely hard(Usually about 6 hours), and fill with gas and check the seal.

Yesterday I remount the engine, I used bolts instead as i'm trying to learn from his mistake. The engine lines up, and started up perfectly. My exhaust however cracked nearly in half(Plug a hole and another appears). The guy before me mounted it to the upper frame so whenever the suspension moved it created the crack. I spot welded it, then used this stuff called fiberfix to wrap around it. I works beautifully! Now the only real problem that I have is my clutch is stick, I don't understand why, I changed nothing on it and is worked perfectly before. Any advice on how to fix? Or if just running it with the stick clutch will help loosen it up?
