Hello all,
Our Kt196 starts fine and drives fine until about 15-20 minutes in. After that it will intermittently sputter. Sometime it will shut off entirely but most times it’ll just lose power for a second and keep going but then sputter again a minute or two later. Has anyone else had this issue?
We drive on a lot of hills.., is there a low oil sensor on these engines? I’ve googled it and never found anything on one so I’m guessing not. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks

the enigne will likely have had a low oil sensor originally which coleman hopefully had removed..
just check the engines rear side to find a small aluminium cube with screw on tab.
if you find it, that's the low oil alert box
(the actual sensing switch is inside the crankcase.. nevermind)
unplug it for testing. (insulate the male plugs so they don't touch the crankcase or chassis)

if the problem is gone.. yes low oil sensor.

I just have the feeling we're rather talking about a fuel delivery issue here.
sounds to me that the fuel line has a bend that prevents the bowl from refilling properly
maybe even an air bubble trapped in the fuel line.
mainly because you said "a lot of hills".
