well go figure.i took the coil foo cleaned it a little and gaped it.low and behold no spark.what did i do wrong.pulled out the spark plug turned the motor over with plug in the wire and grounded it and no spark.
There's really not a whole lot that can go wrong with the coil by just taking it out and putting it back in. Does it have the little tab on the top of the coil that you ground to shut the engine off? If so, you might wanna check that it's not touching any of the ground.
did you have spark before? if so then its just to far from fly wheel what i do it take a latchbook lid and hvae that go between flywheel and coil. tighten bolts and do a quick spin so you know things wont hit and boom it should work.
He lost spark after removal and I posted that it should be set at .010 (.0125 maximum). I suspect cdi or coil is bad. If it is cdi, I have a possible fix. If its a coil, trash it.
no i had it running last year,i'm just going through it and cleaning it up.all i did was take the coil off and clean the bottom of it with some sandpaper because of some surface rust and did the same with the flywheel.i gaped it at .010 and put it back together.i'm going to go get another plug for it today.
