If my engines shaft is 3/4" but the keyed part is 5/8" should I get a 5/8 bored clutch or a 3/4" clutch?

Are you saying you have a tapered or stepped style shaft? You need to be able to support the clutch fully through in order to operate the kart without the clutch tearing itself apart. Get a new shaft or get a new engine.
