Hi everyone,

I bought ones of those little grass karts for my kids & after a day of use the centrifugal clutch started playing up,
the inside part that meant to grip and drive the thing keeps popping out causing it to slip,
I can bang it back in and it works for 5 then pops out again,
It has a flimsy bit of steel supporting the little sprocket on the end of the drive shaft which ive strengthened but it seems now theres to much pressure on the clutch and it wont drive at all,
Ive tryed loosing it of just a lil & wot d u know it pops out again lol
can any1 help please?

What size tires are you using? Pics? If your tire size is too large the clutch will burn up, over heat and just not work.

Also. Are you gas then brake then gas? It's better to go full throttle. It lets the clutch cool down. Other wise gets hot and slips.

Also please fill in a profile location.

Jimmy Welcome to the forum. I am not sure what you are asking. Thats ok. Why and how would you know all the correct names and terms for different parts. The best advice I can give you (and the other regulars here will agree) is post some pics of the Kart and the parts in question. That way we can help you. Also fill in your profile, at least a general location State or country. That way we know where best to send you for parts that are near you. It could be you just need a new clutch entirely and they can be found on Ebay for as little as 22 bucks.

You need a new clutch , I had the same problem when I bought my go kart ,the clutch cover was coming out like that for me also and when I took it apart I was missing a clutch shoe.

So if I were you i'd open the clutch up and see if anythings missing which probably is the case , and if so get a new clutch.

How to post pics

I'd say you found the problem; from what I can see, this kart has a similar setup to my daughters kart; if the plate holding the clutch bell on isn't strong enough or properly set up & aligned, the problem will keep occurring; replace or reinforce the support plate & the problem should disappear...

Sounds like you need a clutch.
