Are your gears aligned... does your chain have 'kinks' in it... is the 'retaining' bolt, at the end of the shaft, secured and snug?

... can you be alil more descriptive on the 'sound' you hear?! I hear a sound at certain speeds as well... they sound like my wife saying..."told ya, you shouldnt have gone that fast....".

my chain had kinks in it but then i oiled it its pretty loose though. now the retaining bolt isnt completly snug it has play and i believe the gears are aligned. its a grinding noise that makes the cart jump.

When I used to race go-karts (not these yard karts, but professional karts with strict guidelines), the clutch would always do that!

Go to my video and watch it about at 10 seconds. When the engine slows down, the clutch will make a noise and jump. The noise is at 12 seconds...

Is this the noise you're referring to?

I know you might not enjoy the noise, but I believe this is how clutches sound. When stepping off of our brakes, the go kart will accelerate forward.

The clutch in the video is new and has never been raced. So I know the clutch is healthy lol. It is just what it sounds like at the raceway.
