Clutch question

I'm going to put this honda clone 3.5hp engine on my chopper bike. The shaft is a 5/8 and I have a 3/4 clutch laying around and I figured I could use it so I don't have buy another one. I've heard of people shimming the bigger clutch on there, how would I go about this? and what are your thoughts?

Will just be for cruising and riding with my friends

Well- you'd have to find or fab a sleeve with a 5/8" ID and a 3/4" OD- which would obviously have a wall thickness or 1/16" (~16ga). You may be able to find a length of appropriate tubing.

Then, you'll have to cut it for the key, and finally- Make or have made a key that will work with the whole thing.
