quick question on clutches, dont know much so here goes. i have a centrifugal clutch that i bought for my old kart. Im going to transfer the engine onto a new one i recently bought. The clutch i bought is a 12 tooth single sprocket 3/4'' shaft no 35 chain. The new kart has a bigger sprocket and a bigger chain. The chain size is 40, and the sprocket has 48 teeth. so i went online to buy a new one. I found one that is a Hilliard Extreme-Duty Centrifugal Clutch - 3/4in. Bore, 10 Tooth, 40-41 Chain Size. Would it fit, and would it be good to run it well??

The shaft is the engine shaft and is 3/4" in your case.
The bore is the inside diameter of your clutch wich will be 3/4", so it can fit perfectly with the engine shaft.
Are you sure you cant get a new sprocket or clutch drum?
Also have you considered a comet tav2 torque converter? They are about $185 but they are a really good clutch.

Hey kartmaster, I checked out the pic of your kart and the info you gave in your other thread. (I also saw you already said you cant afford a torque converter system, so I wont recommend that)

That Hillard Extreme clutch is an alright model, its one of the lower priced clutches available but they seem to work alright on lots of karts.

The thing I'm kinda worried about with your kart is:
You seem to have pretty dam tall rear tires,
and a comparatively small 48-tooth axle sprocket,
and then you wanna use the kart for off roading with a little 5.5hp engine...

So, I'm just kinda worried your gonna burn up your new clutch up unless you also install a larger rear sprocket.

How tall are your back tires?

How much do you weigh?

And what kinda Off-roading will you be doing?
(like maybe just cruising on flat hard terrain, or will you be trying to climb hills/mountains?)
