New to these boards and the world of karting. There is some great info here but i can't find the answer i am looking for.

I just bought 2 karts that have a comet 30 series asymmetric torque converter.

I need a new drive set up on both Karts. The pulley on the jack shaft.

My question is this. I really don't want to put 200 into each kart for a whole new set up. Is there a cheaper way to go. Maybe changing it over to chain to chain driven instead of belt to chain driven.

Please help i am lost.

Unless you take an oxy torch to them, it's darn near impossible to kill a TAV beyond repair.

Thank you very much for the response.

I will try to get pictures tomorrow. The 1 cart doesn't have the driven clutch on it....somebody just put a v pulley on it, doesn't do to good to say the least.

Is there a good place to find a good priced used driven clutch?

Hate to spend a 100 on just the 1 part.

1 Kart is missing the driven clutch (has a v pulley) the other karts Driven clutch sides are all bent up.

Well these things aren't cheap, but you may end up frying clutches and spend more in the long run. It really depends upon how you'll be using the karof: on road or off, constant WOT or partial throttle, bit (15"+) tires or small ones, climbing hills or riding on flat surfaces? All of these play into the decision. And how they bent up the driven, I would like to know.

ok here are some pictures. These pictures are of the bent and messed up driven clutch. Everything seems to move okay on it. the rubber pads seem fine, it is just the part that is bent.

You got a good deal but you'll be needing to buy clutches for sure, and clean those driver clutches, the first one looked mad rusted.
