Clutch adjustment screw leaks like a sieve

I picked up a used Kandi 110cc kart for the kids to smash around on. Just replaced the clutch and now oil is peeing out of the side of the cover where the adjustment screw is. I recall there was a minor leak from there before, but now it literally pours out. Any insight would be great!

It looks like it's meant to have some sort of nut on it based on the external threads and marring on the cover... An acorn nut with a gasket, perhaps?

If there was a nut on there before, it fell off before I got a hold of it. A lock nut makes sense though so I tried that to no avail. I think you're onto something with the gasket though, that's what I'll try next.

you'd need something like an acorn nut with a copper washer to seal it I would think. A regular nut, even with a gasket, would allow fluid to seep out through the threads.

Most of the hardware on this kart is interchangeable, so I had a spare nut from replacing the brake system. I used this along with a cutout piece of gasket material as described above. Problem solved and the kids are flinging dirt again!
