clone revs out of control

title probably doesn't make any sense. My kids gokart has a clone that I bought about a year ago and mounted and hooked up. It's always cranked on the first pull with the choke on and after about 4-5 seconds turn the choke off and it's good to go. I've not run it for the past few months and went out this evening to crank her up and this is what she did. Choke on, took several pulls to get her going (wasn't really surprised by this as its sat for a bit) after a few seconds, turned the choke off and she just revs wide open and starts spinning the tire on the trailer till I cut her off. Checked the throttle linkage and it's bottomed down and not stuck open or anything. I even let it run with the choke on for several minutes till it started to sputter occassionally and then cut the choke off and same thing. Does this sound like an issue any of you have experienced? This gokart has always been stored on the trailer and in the garage, so it's not out in the elements all the time.

That's kinda what I was thinking, I've just never tore into one of these carbs before. Was hoping someone had a miracle cure lol. Time to search for that process. thanks.

Yea i've never had a gummed up carb run wide open before. Start it and pull the butterfly closed with your finger and see what happens. I just did a whole bunch of throttle reworking to my Warrior Mini because it was hanging open randomly. Come to find out a hardened mud ball had rolled against the black plastic butterfly from time to time and kept it jammed open.
