So its time, of course i want more speed and im ready to mod up the clone. im on a 50$ budget currently and would like to know what i could get for that price that will make the MOST difference in power and speed. Anyone got a good list of what i can do cheaply?

A header and air filter are Probably the cheapest. The best is the header because you can make for super cheap and the powergain is around 1/2 a horsepower from a stock exauhst.

and the sound of it makes it seem like double the HP

These are some things for under $50 that would improve your speed/power.

removing the governor (know the dangers)-$0

rejetting-$6

straight pipe (if you are on a tight budget, you may want to make your own)-around$40 new, not sure how much if you make your own.

new air filter-$29 w/ adaptor

adjusting spark plug gap-$0

Flat top piston-$25

New cam-$50

just do the things on AGK, i think im going to end up doing them as well because im planning to rebuild my lifan clone engine after i get some cash.

Remove Governor
Straight Pipe/Header
Airfilter
Slide Carb
Adjust sparkplug
reduce the drag (cutting off every other fin thingy on the fan)

and that should be a pretty good hp upgrade right there, itll give you alot more rpms aswell.

i cant afford such an expensive carb right now, those are for later, my current thoughts and what i have in my AGK basket and my plans are

remove governor
some sort of exhaust, can i bolt one together rather than weld?
spark plug adjust
reduce drag
UNI air filter w/adaptor
#90 jet

think this will do well?

Sounds pretty good, I am sure it is possible to bolt a exhaust together. I never have though.

Take some 1/16 sidwall pipe and if you grind out edges to make 6-8 sections you can use a clamp or wormgear clamp to bolt pipe together. As for a flange i think welding is your only option?

Here's my finished list, i just ordered and have plans now

uni air filter w/adapter ( and a sticker :wai: )
#90 main jet
governor delete
nkgbp6es spark plug ( supposed to improve HP and performance )
linkage kit C (http://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm...Code=A&Product_Code=SMKM194&Category_Code=PTL )
cut every other flywheel fin
some kind of exhaust system

this was all ordered from affordable go karts and i spent 60

I bought that plug for my clone. Haven't used it yet but it is a non resistor plug. Meant to be slightly brighter spark. Doubt it would be noticeable, but it was cheaper than the bpr6es so I got it. You can also take the resistor out of the spark plug cap, you get it out with a screwdriver.
If you feel like opening up the bottom end/ head you can get a gx160 take off flat top piston for $10 from NR racing in the stock parts section. I used a 160 piston, required skirt grinding, so if you wanted one you might be better off spending that $5 more for the 160/200 one. Not all 160 pistons are long skirt, but short skirts are better ;) (because they require no grinding for gx200)

i noticed that when i pulled off the spark plug boot once there was a little rubber peice on the spark plug, so i threw it on my work station and put the boot back on, no isues., isint the resistor gold inside the cap? im not to worried about taking it out, but the plug was 4 dollars and it said to improve HP gain so i figured what the hell, im taking the governor out and putting new oil in it, why not give it a new plug.(also good for a plug chop) and i may just get the one for gx200 later, but ive never done rings on one of thesse. i also thought about a gx140 E tube but im not going that far just yet. lets see what i get from all the mods im doing right now

thesse mods turned my motor into a power house, combined with a torque converter and no governor, it will get you up there speed wise, and it still has great torque

When you said 'cut every other fin on the flywheel' earlier, you meant the plastic fan thingy, right? Cutting flywheel + no governor = death.
