I finally got the throttle done tonight and lemme tell ya, that lil blue bastard woke that Kart up. That old decrepit flat head could never touch that clone. I'm just trying to figure out why I didn't do this months ago....

I'm right there with you man! I wish I had put one of these bad dudes on my boys little Streaker when we first got it 4 years ago! Hey Mike, can you give me some pointers for some simple mods that won't compromise engine life, etc.? Inexpensive is also good!:)

danger, when i first started modding mine, i removed the paper from the oem filter, yanked the governor and ran a straight pipe. my engine doesn't run as fast as the builders claim it should. propper jetting is a must for any engine. i ran 50wt oil in the beginning, 5-20w30 is fine. remove every other fin from the plastic fan. i doubt anyone has gone through tests with a stocker running along side modifieds to see if longevity is the same as with the stock configuration. if you build it up correctly, it will last. as to how long, mainly depends on maintenance and how it is used.

When I take the gov off, is there anything to be aware of? Like springs that are attached to it, etc.? I was also wondering about the low oil sensor...I disconnected the wire at the quick connector located inside the little black box adjacent to the shutoff switch. Will this take care of auto shutoff of engine during rough terrain riding? Thanks a lot for all of your suggestions and help guys. My boys and I love this site and we're really excited about getting the yerf dog going.......AND the crazy new Streaker that was created by install of the HF 6.5! Happy Vday !

Lolz.. yea those good old hard working MEXICANS building good old American Briggs motors have gone with plastic cams.

Not to worry though.. the garbage clone engines use a nice hardened steel cam that will last until we die from trying to grasp at false reasons why they are junk.
