Just a light film of oil will keep it, at home we pretty much live on the sea, and its bloody windy. In excess of 100km/h :ack2:
To keep the bed of the mill, lathe and drill press from forming rust, I just clean them down and use Engine oil and just brush it on. Works like a charm

We use engine oil on ours too, and 6% soluble in the coolant.

you can get wire wheels for the grinder. they work 10x better than the drill kind. takes rust and paint off instantly. Thats what i use

I've had one of those expand on me, holy crap that was a buzz, you should always check the max rpm on all attachments

because one day murphy will arrive, typically when you have no grinding guard on to fit that slightly larger disc you scrounged of the 7inch which was taken off 9 inch which beforehand was on the drop saw and who knows, somethng bad will happen knowing murphy......

I think that happens a few to many times..

A serious question, when a cut off disk for a 9inch grinder gets small enough to fit on a 6-7inch (Safely!!) Is okay to use? Not that i have done it, it could save you a lot off money on disks.

Buy high quality cut off disks also... Cheep ones will shatter, take much longer to do the same work, And can be horribly un-ballanced. Ive learned even grinding disks its better to buy the good stuff... Take a micrometer or what ever else and measure a bunch of cheep disks thickness.. Its suposed to be around 2/32nds i think it is.. It can be off by alot!

thats why i call it "wrestling with the angle grinder", decent gyroscopic forces going on there (?? yea i really have no clue what i'm talking about, but it sounds cool, lol)

p.s. my 1 cut-off wheel is about 2" in dia, its supposed to be 4.5, getting tough to use, lol
