I am getting a 90% complete Clark 446 this weekend. I had the same kart in 1983 and excited about fixing this one up for my son. My question is if any members here have a parts breakdown for Clark karts in general or any docs specific to Clark MFG. I am going to do a full restore to original. Any help would be most appreciated. I will post pics as I go.

Well I think the person you should ask is Orange Krate;
he has more than just one Clark 446 IIRC...

I'm not sure if he has any documentation, but at least he'll know what you need
and most of the time where to get it ;)

I have beat the internet down and found surprisingly little about Clark Mfg. Other than they were located in Conyers, GA and possibly related to the forklift makers.

I know from personal memory that they had literature on several models circa 1984. Also from personal experience, Clark made a Dukes of Hazzard go-kart which was, according to Scott Romine of Collecting Hazzard, "unofficial merchandise." This leads me to induce that "The Rebel" may have come after a cease and desist. Though the DOH kart was not a 446 chassis.

By comparison of other posters on other sites, the 446 Rebel is almost identical to the Cyclops 440 save for the graphics. They even have the same wheels which are nearly impossible to find replacements for.

You can get a replacement flag from Crazy C's General Lees as he has already recreated the flag though you would have to specify "The Rebel" as I customized mine.

I only have one but it's completely restored with a few modifications. No parts break down but was able to restore from stock available parts except for the wheels and mine was only 50% complete.

You can read more about the whole sordid affair in my threads "The General" and "Go-Kart Alley the series"

Can't wait to see pics!

My plan is to mount a Predator 6.5 engine to it. Any issues in doing so? Does this engine just bolt directly up to a Clark frame?

My Clark Cyclops 440 restoration

Here's my Clark 440 I just restored.

I picked up another 440 frame this summer, painted orange no less (for Mr. Van Vleet). I'm going to make that one a Rebel (may have been, serial # and stickers are gone).

I've been collecting anything related to Clark karts, so if anyone has any brochures, owners manuals, etc. please post. When I get around to it, I will create a simple site (own www.ClarkGoKarts.com) with the info I have for fans of Clark karts to enjoy.

Wow Mike! That is a great looking Clark! I too was riding my Rebel in the early 80's. I have a passion for the Clark Karts as well. Look forward to seeing your web site. I am seeking out all the info I can get a hold of. I'm restoring one I found on Craigslist for my son this Christmas. He is going to flip out when he sees it by the tree! Extra bonus here is I get to have a childhood again! With the exception of the new predator engine and a new seat, the kart will be close to original. Thankfully I got it in the condition I did. He has been begging for a go kart for a few years now and I wasn't going to be happy until I found my old Clark 446 Rebel! God speed on your Clark site and research.
