Hello,
First time posting to this forum. I have read many threads though. I just picked up this Clark 420 Go Kart on Friday and haven't been able to find out much about it. I paid $80 because the engine was seized. After soaking the cylinder with motor oil all weekend I got it to spin and got it to start with a little staring fluid. I will be rebuilding the carburetor tomorrow. One of the wheels is broke, but was able to locate on in Houston, TX at www.gokartsoftexas.com The throttle cable is not connected. In fact it is completely off and I was wondering if anyone knows how to connect it? Thanks for any help. BTW, does anybody know how old this might be?

Yes, it's from about 1981 - 1983. In the US market it was called a 420 cougar. In Europe it was called a 425 bobcat. Nice score! I'm working hard on my son's 446 Rebel for Xmas. I have been scouring the internet for anything related to Clark Mfg..

Clarks coming out of the woodwork now!

What you wanna do is replace all of those wheels because they're so old and fragile. Then send them to me for, um, recycling:thumbsup:

Seriously, did you find the same wheel or just a suitable replacement, because I was starting to think there were none left in existence.

Throttle should connect under the fuel tank for goverened operation. If you want more RPMs (I think that should be RsPM) and *possible* engine damage then you'll have to rig up the throttle to connect where you have pictured.
