chopper or bobber from <50cc scooter??

Has anyone ever seen or built a chopper or bobber from a 50cc scooter, using all the parts from it that allow you to ride it on the street legally? (I'm not talking about chinese pocket bike type stuff, I mean taking something like this and removing the ghey) I think that it would have the potential to be a pretty cool ride, while still being great on gas and getting around the complexities of motorcycle licensing/registration/etc.

So, does anyone have some pics? Or has no one been stupid enough to try this yet?

Id be interested in this as well. Ive had the itch to build a mini chopper for a bit, But couldnt find a 5hp at a decent price. I do however have a chinese 50cc 2 stroke mo-ped that has low milage that i could use the drive train out of.

every thread ive come across, Says to sell the moped complete, and buy a more suiteable engine..

I figure if the engine can get a 100lb moped to fifty, It should have no problem getting a 40lb mini chopper to around the same speed, Which would make me happy! Ill just have to go over my MoPed and see if its possible to pull the motor and use it on another set-up.

The moped itself needs too much. Id have to get a key, [Which i would bypass on a chopper], Battery [Same deal here, For now], and who knows what all else..

If i throw it on a chopper, Itd be more fun.. To me anyways.

I'm thinking it really wouldn't be that hard, if (in your case) one already had the moped, or could find one for cheap. Pretty much reuse most of the stock parts, in a different configuration on a custom frame. The motor/transmission/drive wheel being assembled as one unit seems like it could be an advantage, if you get creative with the frame design.

I really wanna use a wider back wheel tho, So now i have to figure out how to attach the drive wheel to this.
