pto goes on the left side. just so you dont go building things backwards. looks real good except you didnt leave room for the sprocket . i built a bike once with it on the outside and it didnt look too awfull weird. your going to have to give it a reasonable ratio with the jackshaft 3.5:1 aint gonna cut it. you need like 12:1 with that big a tire. Spend the 30$ for a clutch your gonna need it. itll be a little funky with the tires your using but itll be rideable. i wouldnt worry too much about that. you should paint the dunlop grand prix lettering white :)

i know the pto goes on the left side i sat the engine in that way cause the carb is goin to moved to the rear side wanted to see what it looked like. i have new wheel and tyre do you think i should leave the rear wheel the way it is and make the new wheel and tyre my front? it a space saver out of a 180sx im goin to cut the rim up and make the center in the center if you get me lol. as for that pic were there seams to be no clearance on the rear tyre its a eye trick there is about 20mm each side of the tyre wall hopefull ill have enough room for the chain and sprocket. the gearing im running is 15t on the engine, 40t on the engine side of the jack shaft, 13t on the axle side and a 52t on the rear wheel. i worked the ratio out and made it up on the speed calculator and was approx to 30kph at 3600rpm i have no doubt my engine will rev harder to.

cheers, Dan

Bluethunder (and other Americans), in Australia things are about twice as expensive as things over there even though are dollars are almost worth the same. For example 5.5HP clones are usually $250.

Things like centrifugal clutches and torque converters are very hard to come across and are usually very expensive when you do find them, The Edge Products sells 3/4 cent clutches for $195 and those clutches really aren't anything special, I was quite disappointed by the a friend of mine bought.

That's why motorbike engines are so popular here I guess, pulley tension clutches too.

Thanks

Hayden

Thats a large tire for a small engine, painted up with a set of apehangers some bobber guards, a mean header and pipe, black it all out and it could be a mean cruiser, but for the engines sake have a large gear reduction please!

Cheers, Cam.

yer its goin to have a very large reduction, its a 6hp engine with a few mods should may 7-7.5hp i should think. any way we will see. in real life the engine suits the frame very well

Nice looking build... and cool wheel. How did you get the hub perfectly centered? I'd be afraid of constructing something like that, just an 1/8" off and I'm sure you'd notice. Nice job
