I'd wait for Harbor Freight to put their 212cc Predator on sale again. Same price, it's already in the country and comes with a real warranty. It's compatible with all the standard/ most commonly used drive train components.

The diesel? Other than listing it as having 2hp, they don't tell you anything else about the business end; mounting bolt pattern and dimensions, diameter of the PTO shaft as well as length etc.

That engine is going to be more headache than it's worth. I wouldn't buy anything that gives me obvious reason to question its quality, the predator engines from harbor freight are a much better option, offering a decent engine at a great price. If you are willing to chance the quality, there's a few different things inherently wrong with the engine itself that could harm functionality and usability. First being that the engine only revs to 2600RPM and makes 2.2hp, meaning you're already lowering the top speed of your cart, and the acceleration. Another problem is that the output shaft might be metric, and if you're in the states you could have some trouble finding a clutch that's metric.

In short, the predator really is better in every way including price with the coupon given in the above post.

Interesting little engine. I notice that the specs list 2200RPM as the "rated" speed. I don't know if this is necessarily the maximum speed. That could simply be where torque peaks, and the rest quite literally got lost in translation. Since standard OPE implement speed is 3600, I'd be surprised.

Hilliard lists their "Extreme Duty" clutch's exgagement speed as 2300. Therefore if this engine does top out at 2200, you have a problem...

This is an interesting little plant that I wouldn't mind messing with in the name of research. It is not what I would consider a good choice for a go kart.

I love the idea of that little diesel! Yes, you would need to get a clutch with a low engagement speed, but I think Hilliard sells race clutches that have exchangeable springs as low as 1200. http://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gom...rd/gominiclutchracehilliardfury/hired-w1.html.

So that may be a non-issue. Top end speed is simply a function of gearing and max RPM. I would be very hesitant to mess with the governor on something like this, though. Super cool, run on fry oil and have all the torque, where do I sign up?

If cheap is all you want though, the answer is predator (or power fist up here). Its the equivalent of asking what car to buy, and all your friends say Honda civic. Pretty much universal.

EXACTLY!!!
After a quick YAHOO search, I can find no retailers for this particular engine.
Anyone else?
For this price I would really like to get my hands on one!!!
It seems to me that to get one engine from China would be be a rather expensive endeavor.
The link posted appears to be for inquiries only. I do not see any means of outright purchase.
