hey don't forget pictures when you take apart the engine i personally haven't taken apart a engine but i took apart a airsoft spring pistol. it was a spring so when i had the last screw off it blew itself up . took three weeks of off and on trying to get all the peices back together through guess work and when it was all together it still was quite right and well an engine could only be harder with out pics also with failure being much more expensive.

*Take notes
*take pictures
*Take measurements
*Get help
*RTFM (After you've gotten one)
*Place all fasteners and parts in individually labelled Ziploc bags
* NEVER use a tool that is CLOSE to the right size...

thanks toystory.ill remember your advice wen i go into it.

thinkin about havin twin engines......when i start my job.seems pretty simple.then i can just use the engine for sumthin else like if i wanna go get a minibike or sumthin lol

Yep, its not hard at all to work on engines. I'm self taught and can do alot of procedures. Just go slow and read ALOT.

as am i,....sort of. i am in the procedure of self learning. it seems stupid at first, but forums help ALOT. when i first got my snowmobile i thought i knew everything about it, but then i realized i didn't know how to take the carb off haha. but now after much forum talk and starring at things for hours i can easily do a top end rebuild and other things.

also, the taking off the outer easy bolts first is a good idea. for example: take the bolts holding the carb off first. then take a god look at the carb and get to know how it works, and then just go form there. also diagrams online are helpful.
(knowing how things work is very useful and valuable to know when disassembling-assembling things)
