Cheap solar kits ????

Any body tried these cheap kits????

The price alone is worth the pure sine wave inverter.

I hooked a Cobra cpi2575 (2500/5000 watt) inverter (modified sine wave) to my shop/shed, off my pick up truck battery, and with 1 box fan on high, all the over head lights, a small fridge (beer only cooler) stero cranked to about 1/2 way up, and I hardly ever do that, it said it was only using 480 watts.

I was jus thinking of other ways to get power when we have an outage.
We had a 10hr outage when it was 3* last week. Had to fire up the kerosene heaters and geeny.

I gotta small 3000/4000 genny for wifi, tv, fridge, and coffee pot.

Lmk if any body has tried these or other cheapos.

I have a couple of cheap 400 watt inverters. They have proven to be useful and reliable. Battery life is problem. l don't know how the power conversion works out, but l think 480 out would mean 480 watts in + a few for losses.
480 watts @ 120 volts = 4 amps. 480 watts @ 12 volts = 40 amps

I'd be curious as well about some affordable solar options. . I have zero experience with solar power, but would love an option of solar for at least my garage. I can get by with my my generator for basic needs to keep us comfy in the house and keep the food fresh.

I can’t see why anyone would want a solar kilt? Does it light up when you have to pee? Seems to me if wearing one of those man skirts is your thing just wear a regular old one. No need to get one that’s solar powered. Just seems like a marketing scheme to me.

Don't bother with those cheap kits. They not worth $20.

The solar is panel is more like 22 watts not 400.

The inverter is junk. Won't pull a string of 10 40 watt l.e.d shop lights, without over heating, it's not a pure sine wave, it's a modified sine wave.

The charge controller is maybe 10 amps.

A buddy and I split the cost for testing, it was a major fail and learning experience. He's knows more about solar then i do.

I spent $ on 2 100 watt panels, a victron charge controller, good wiring, I need better batteries.
My old boat batteries are only 85%, but still pulls all the power I need to run my lil shop.
