Cheap live axle

Hey I'm wanting to put a live axle on my cart and was looking for the cheapest way. I'm not scared to build something, but need a little direction. Thanks

When I made a drift trike with my dad, I found a piece of pipe that was straight and had fairly thick walls. I threaded the ends and welded up some hubs made from pipe fittings and a steel plate.
As long as the go kart isnt too heavy, A pipe should do the trick
You should be able to find bearings that will fit the pipe; measure thoroughly
