Cheap karts and Australia in the same sentence

I'd say the main ones in us are the best bet
BMI and so on

Or find parts that u can slightly modify or will fit the kart

Like shops that sell stuff for farms are good for bearings, chains, clutches and hardware
It is easiest to get an axle cut by a machine shop

I got a 25 mm by 1m shaft keyed the whole length for $50

It is going to cost a bit but u gotta decide between us plus postage
And local

check out shakyparts.com for reasonable (actual USPS prices) shipping and good communication. They are located in the US but sent to me in the UK.

have a look for quad rims maybe?

You could save money by just buying taller tires that would fit your old rims. What size are your old tires?

The fronts are 2.80x3.50-6 i think, and the backs are 4.10x3.50-6. Vintage kart tyres basically. I had a look for bigger ones for her and had no luck whatsoever

I'd meant those 410's were taller than the old front tires, but yeah some 13x5.00-6 tyres would probably work great. How wide are the rims?

Ok thanks. Not too sure how wide they are, but my rims were very similar width just looking at them, I couldnt be screwed taking a tyre off to see exactly. But yea looked close. The side walls of the tyres are almost dead straight so at a guess the rims would be very close to 4.10

After paying shipping cost from the US, you might actually end up saving money just buying
one of these 13" or 15" tall sets from Oz:

Yeah I had a look at those, seems pretty hot on the $ to me....I still think STD 6" Kart rims fitted with Cessna or Piper PA28 tyres would have to be the cheapest way to go for a fun tyre/rim package....thoughts guys?:cheers2:

yeah I'm not really wanting to spend $400 on wheels, I'm looking for more like less than $100 i found these at BMI

Thinking about getting them all round and i will reuse my rear hubs and try and find some front ones. not sure on tires yet though. i want to be at least 13" all round because i have a low kart and what to use it off road

Hey guys, noticed you were all looking for cheap parts. I did the same thing about 7 years ago when I needed to fund my hobby on a budget. What I found was that there wasn't a lot of cheap parts out there, even second hand.

I started finding new ways to get hold of cheap parts and ended up starting my business selling the cheapest parts in Australia. Now I run a wide range of parts which are cheap and high quality.

You can buy kitted parts from my store which provides for people doing DIY karts. If you've got a chassis then I can supply everything to fit for a fraction of the price of go kart stores. The general idea is to get people out there having fun that otherwise couldn't afford it.

In relation to wheels, I can't do tallies but we do have the cheapest 5" rims around, and they are nice looking wheels too.

Check out my site http://www.cutpriceracing.com.au

If anyone has any Q's fire away I'd only be too happy to see if I can help anyone out.

Cheers,
-Paul
