hi all
does anyone know of what sort off if any type of alternator could be fitted my boys electric kart(getting a bit tied of keep charging it)
its running 36v 500w motor
3x12v 12ahr motor bike batts
they last just under 1 hour but there must be away of running some sort of alternater??
any thoughts welcome

That would be perpetual motion, unfortunately no such thing. There is no free lunch. The problem would be: Say the kart makes 2 hp. It would take a 2hp alternator to charge the batteries to run the alternator, and the kart has little or no power left to move.
The bright side is if you can figure this out you will be a gazillionare, But... Exxon Shell and BP will probably hide you somewhere with Jimmy Hoffa.

yeah, I agree with what chancer said
Maybe you could put some solar panels and leave it out in the sun all the time.
but an alternator would kill almost every bit of power you have.

solar panels in England. there's hardly any sun at best!
ill stick with the charger
