charging system in 420 predator engine

if anyone can help me...i have been gone for a minute so my project had stopped now im back at it.i have a 420 predator engine that i took off the key ignition box that sits on the front of the engine. i want this engine to charge the battery.do i simply hook up the wire coming from the coil to the positive on the battery or do i need the key igintion box hooked back up to make it work

When you removed the key box, what wiring did you remove? There should be two larger cables for the battery &, unless I'm wrong, a smaller red cable which connects the charging coils to the battery...

The safest bet is put everything back how it was & go from there...
