Charging help

I bought a new duromax 16hp and don't know how to hook up the charging coil the wire is there I just don't know what all I need I had to extend the wires to hook up the electrical to my kart but in the process I lost some parts everthing works except the charging coil isn't hooked up what diode or rectifier do I need any advice helps thanks

I don't know about that exact engine, but often there's a built-in diode in the wire or connector coming out if the engine. If not or if you're not sure, it won't hurt to add one, you could use pretty much any diode rated bigger than 12v and 10amps. Radio Shack. All you're doing it making sure current cones out of the coil, not back into it.

I hooked my charging wire direct to the battery + terminal.
