Charging coil for 6.5hp clones?

Firstly does your clone have the magnets require on the flywheel for a charging coil? If not then you will need a new flywheelz.
Both the coil and flywheel can be found on NR racing if i remember correctly.

I assumed the OP was intelligent enough to realise he could leave the starter off if desired,
but evidently I should have mentioned that for those that weren't...

Were you able to find a lower price on just the charging coil, rectifier, wiring and flywheel?

That is a good deal for electric start kit. He said, he wanted to run lights, the above listed kit comes with a 10amp coil and fly wheel(enuff to start motor and charge batt) but not run lights. The one for $300.00 is a 80 amp unit and will put out enuff power to run everything.

4 amps isnt a ton to charge a battery, plus 10 amps is probably the max output, so you cant expect that at lower rpm.

Your confusing Watt with Amp-output.

I'm not sure where you found the output specifications of the charging coil in the electric start kit I'd linked, because that ebay ad info doesn't give any output specifications. I'm guessing this charging coil is only a 25-Watt model, and has a max output of only around 2.1 amp. This little charging system isnt really designed to have enough output to supply lights that would give much Illumination, it's just basically designed to slowly trickle-charge the battery after starting.

But the charging coil NR racing sells (part# 4480786 - 1/4 of the way down this page:--> http://www.nr-racing.com/stockparts.htm) is better, its rated as having an 88-Watt output...

If you convert 88 Watt/@12-Volt to Amp-output, it tells us that NR charging coil has a max output of just over 6.6-Amp.

"I found my watt output on the ?Honda gx200 manual.....page s20,i belive.
