Ok, so I finished my daughters kart (see my Rebuilding of a Canadian Legend thread) and, while I was in the process of planning what to do with my own kart, I stumbled upon this little gem, a 1976 Yamaha Chappy LB80 (I believe) on Kijiji (I have to stop looking at Kijiji, it is a sickness I tell you
).
So, I have torn it down, ordered some parts via ebay, stripped and painted the frame and have gently and slowly bumped the dents out of a number of the body parts (fender was mangled and headlight bucket too) on this bike. Recently, there has been a surge in the purchase of mini bikes (especially CT70, trail 90 and z50 Hondas) so I thought that this might be a nice project seeing as they are somewhat rare and that the $60 price tag was hard to pass up.
Pics are from day 1 through to frame being painted. Reassembly to take place as parts are repaired and acquired (so this could take a while). Engine is apart and I will have my very qualified cousin take a close look at it.
Any information regarding parts or things to be aware of with these bikes is greatly appreciated.
